06/27/15 Fireworks over the 2015 North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic in Waterford, MS

This is how you end nine days on the road!

The 10th North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic was an amazing time; as was all nine days of our trip promoting our latest recording, “DIDN’T SEE THIS COMING”!  So after playing City Dogs in RVA on Friday, June 19th we set out to Darwin’s Burgers & Blues in Marietta, GA.  The next day we found an open mic, bike night and poker night all rolled up into one at Cantrell’s Hiram Station, in Hiram, GA, played a few songs and made a few friends.  We received an email from Bman’s Blues Report on our way to Florida linked to their review of “DIDN’T SEE THIS COMING” and on Monday night we played a short set at Lili’ Marlene’s World War I Aviator Pub at Seville Quarter in Pensacola, FL for the Blues Society of Northwest Florida‘s Blues Jam. Cat Rhodes and The Truth hosted this night and we are so glad to catch them there since we missed them at this year’s International Blues Challenge!  Saw some sights and did some things around Pensacola on Tuesday before heading to Mobile, Alabama to the Blues Tavern for their band audition night on Wednesday (we’ll be back on 10/23/15)!  We traveled all through the night afterwards so that our guitarists could attend the guitar workshop for the 2015 North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic that was being taught by Kenny Brown, Luther Dickenson, Alvin Youngblood Hart and Duwayne Burnside at the Chalmers Institute in Holly Springs, Mississippi.   Wynton and Michael tore up the jam afterwards across town at Junior’s Juke Joint #2!  The next two days were filled with travels through the Mississippi Delta and attending The Picnic; a most awesome way to end a week of throwing it to the wind!

THANK YOU

…to EveryOne that’s helped along the way and who’s path we’ve crossed during our travels! From day one well wishes to seeing family and friends old and new in every city! to people buying our CD unheard after conversations of why we’re in town, and to conversations that were had with everyone, everywhere along the way during this week!  to people allowing us to pass when we used our signals while obeying all posted speed limits over the highways! to all who fed us, especially the fruit man in Georgia and all hotels with FREE breakfast and waffle irons WITH batter and the 5 day, slow cooked pulled pork brought from Memphis!  This trip would not have been as encouraging or memorable without any and all of you; can’t wait to see y’all again soon!
